Le Petit Parisien: a homemade cuisine

 

Here is a place really close to Montmartre Relais you'll be fond of, if you like simple traditional, generous, homemade cuisine.The restaurant is located in a charming street, near the Moulin de la Galette.
 

When Ludo Janssens and Nicolas Butz accidentally discovered this restaurant, they got hooked and decided to buy it. Ludo had an enameled plaque with Le Petit Parisien, a major newspaper that had been published until 1944. "That was the trigger," he said. They bought the "front pages" of Le Petit Parisien and used them to decorate their tables. That was the starting point of this unbridled and intuitive design. Old displays, vintage items, an atmosphere of flea market, where everything is for sale.

 

 

What does the menu say? "The menu changes with seasons and arrivals in order to bring you the freshest products all year round." A good point: homemade food and fresh seasonal products. This is indeed traditional homemade French cuisine.

Le Petit Parisien offers a menu with a day starter - main course - dessert at €24.00 The portions are generous. The menu is quite varied and features :

Among listed starters, you may find a St Marcelin's honey crisp (€12.00), a terrine Pot-au-Feu stew (€8.00)







For main course, I chose the pot-au-feu stewed like at granny's (€22.00). The great point about this place is that they may offer a dish that is not frequently found on menus. The lamb shank simmered for 4 hours (€24.00), roasted chicken, a taste of our childhood (€18.00).

For dessert, you can try some Vacherin cheese under chestnut cream (€10.00), a Pain Perdu toast brioche (€8.50) or homemade compote (€8.00).The address is unanimously recommended by TripAdvisor or La Fourchetter for you to try it.
